The actual baton waver for this session is probably Lou Gold, according to the Brian Rust discography (as quoted by Dismuke), but one never knows
with the Plaza Record Group during the Depression. Waxed on December 3 of 1930, this is a good example of hotel dance band arrangements during that tough economic time: very conservative and expertly played. The vocal is
credited to Rodman Lewis which could be anyone given the nature of pseudonymns (knowledgeable email is always welcome). The record had not been played very much at all but there was still a lot of hiss in the groove.
Attenuating it a bit with noise reduction has helped to make the music stand out more.
