Nicholas Orlando recorded some sides for Edison in 1920 and '21. While he and his orchestra faded into obscurity afterward, only resurfacing in 1923 and then having the Edison masters rejected, recordings like this showed that he did put some very nice-sounding
(though conservative) dance sides onto wax. The song was co-written by J.S. Zamechik, also known as the co-writer for "Indian Dawn", in early 1921. Orlando's band recorded it for Edison Labs on March 1st of that year. The tune hardly got any circulation, as this
seems to be the only recording of it, but it has a strong melody line that has aged well in the 80-plus years since being written. The disc from which this was sampled had been played quite a lot, so there's some wear in the louder passages, but the surface is quiet
besides that and didn't need a lot of noise reduction. (Other recordings of this orchestra for Edison can be heard at the UCSB Special Collection.)
