A circus-like opener leads into one of the minor compositions by Zez Confrey - this one wasn't a huge hit, like "Stumbling" or "Kitten On the Keys" had been, but it was popular enough to be recorded more than a few times. This was the Gennett waxing, performed
by one of the busier bandleaders in the acoustic era on August 15 of 1922. Joseph Samuels headed orchestras for many of the labels that proliferated during the early 20s, and the title "Master Players" seems to have been unique to Gennett. This record wasn't too
badly brutalized in its day, so the grooves were decent enough to get a good sample. Noise reduction tamed the static to make the record more enjoyable.
