Very nice early Jazz side from a label that was not known for such things. According to the Brian Rust discography, this group probably included Phil Napoleon and Miff Mole but the names of the other personnel are lost to time (thanks
to Bob Celaschi for relaying that info). Whoever's in it, they blend well and play this vintage Jazz number (written by Seymour Simons, who co-wrote "All Of Me" and "Breezin' Along With The Breeze") with some feeling. This
particular side was waxed for Edison Diamond Disc in September of 1923. Sadly, this copy is not in the best of shape - it has suffered water damage (as you can see from the condition of the label) as well as being played a lot in its life -
also, the first few bars of music are missing due to a rim chip. That said, much of the surface is quiet and smooth, and with some patience and the right filters the performance re-emerges as thoroughly listenable.
