"He Lost Her In The Subway"

by Ada Jones

In 1907, the civil wedding was considered socially incorrect (compared to a church wedding), and this song plays to that sensibility perfectly. Ada Jones, never in better form, delivers the lyric with the verve and charm she was famous for. Listen also for the re-apperance of the man who announces this Edison cylinder (possibly Len Spencer?) - he also plays the role of subway conductor later in the record. Nice sound effects - Spike Jones must have been listening!
