Pianist Zez Confrey's follow-up to his famous "Kitten On The Keys" was covered by many different orchestras of the period, and Bennie Krueger's band was the one to record it for Brunswick in May of 1922 (anyone know
the exact date?). The arrangement on this record includes the "hip" musical cliche of that day, namely the staccato baritone sax which was used on dance records by many bands throughout the early 20's. This record was in
very good condition for the most part; it didn't take much noise reduction work to bring the best out of it. |
