Charmed songwriter Con Conrad (who co-authored many classics including "Ma! He's Makin' Eyes At Me" and "Barney Google") wrote this with lyricist John Howard (known for this song and nothing else) in late 1923.
This version was recorded at Brunswick's studios on December 12 of that year. The tune was an early jazz standard, being recorded by the likes of Bailey's Lucky Seven and the Original Memphis Five. Krueger's band
did a nice job with this lively number: the trumpet solo work in the middle is a highlight as well as the quick breaks before the ride-out at the end. The disc itself had some wear evident, so some noise reduction
was applied to make it more listenable. (The recording of this song by "Bailey's Lucky Seven" can be heard at the "Red Hot Jazz Archive".)
