"Ain't I Got Rosie (Ain't Rosie Got Me)"

by the Twin City Bellhops

Many records were issued under this name, most being entirely different orchestras - this side was actually recorded by "Johnny Clesi's Aeolians" in early 1926 for Gennett. The ever-present Red Nichols and Miff Mole were in the band, as well as Vic Burton (thanks to Bob Celaschi of Sacramento for relaying the info from Brian Rust's discography). Frankly, it's one of the most fun electric Gennett's I've heard, and though there was a fair amount of static it did clean up pretty well with some conservative noise reduction. (More info about Red Nichols can be found at the Red Hot Jazz Archive.)
