This cheerfully dower song was written in 1911 by Harry Von Tilzer (music) and Stanley Murphy (lyrics), and remained popular for decades afterward. This is one of the first recordings of it, done for US Everlasting and issued on
a 4-minute cylinder that same year. I don't know much about Anna Howard, except that some discographies state that it was a pseudonym for Lucy Isabelle Marsh, an opera singer who recorded for Victor. Whoever she is, she portrays the
character genuinely and with a whole heart. The cylinder from which this was sampled was in very nice shape, only needing a light once-over with noise reduction.
