He did not have the star power of the other Mischa, that being Mischa Elman (who recorded for Victor), but he does have the distinction of appearing in an uncredited bit-part in the movie
"Citizen Kane". Besides that, he recorded some wonderful classical violin sides for Edison, this being the best as far as I know, recorded on December 11
of 1920. The piece was composed by Franz Ries, who taught the young Ludwig Von Beethoven how to play the violin (!) in the year 1786. The
record itself had been played kindly in its time, so while there was wear it was not harsh. Light noise reduction took care of the rumble that is characteristic of Edison discs.
