This delightful tune was written by Sol Violinsky (a.k.a. Sol Ginsberg, who played in the New York Symphony before WWI). The lyric suggests a haughty sentiment that seems perfectly tailored for a talent like Marion Harris. It's
one of her last recordings for Columbia before signing with Brunswick, recorded on April 5 of 1922, and the Columbia engineers did well by themselves with this release. There's a little wear on the louder passages, and a few scratches, but
after some judicious noise removal this side is a joy to hear.
