"Maybe You Think You're Fooling Baby"

by Marion Harris

This delightful tune was written by Sol Violinsky (a.k.a. Sol Ginsberg, who played in the New York Symphony before WWI). The lyric suggests a haughty sentiment that seems perfectly tailored for a talent like Marion Harris. It's one of her last recordings for Columbia before signing with Brunswick, recorded on April 5 of 1922, and the Columbia engineers did well by themselves with this release. There's a little wear on the louder passages, and a few scratches, but after some judicious noise removal this side is a joy to hear.
