Louis Katzman, the front-man for the Atlantic Dance Orchestra as well as the future musical director for Brunswick, fronted this studio group that recorded some very nice sides for the Edison company and then vanished. Other
than the rumored presence of Miff Mole and Phil Napoleon, the personnel is unknown, but what a great sound they had. This particular side was recorded for Edison on May 15 of 1923. The tune was written by Jules Buffano (bandleader
who appeared as a pianist on Jimmy Durante's TV show in 1954). As usual with this group they trade solos back and forth throughout the recording. The bassoon (!) riffing in tandem with the trumpet is a highlight. The record
itself was in very nice condition, needing some rumble removal only.
