Recorded on February 1 of 1927, this record sounds like the Radio Franks to my ear (knowledgeable emails on the subject are welcome). Jones and Hare performed this song for Victor, which can be downloaded from
"iTunes".
The song was written by Al Sherman, Howard Johnson, and Charles Tobias (the same trio that wrote "What Do We Do on a Dew-Dew-Dewy Day" and "Everything's Made for Love"). The performance borrows from the sort of banter that Jones
and Hare were known for. The lyrics of the song are surprisingly similar to "My Blue Heaven" which was a huge hit around the same time. The record had lots of scratches and wear but the deeper part of the groove still had good sound in it.
Duly applied noise reduction has left us with a very decent sample.
