This tune was written by Gene Austin (see "Railroad Blues") and Ray Bergere in 1924, and has been sung hundreds of times since then by singers from Bessie Smith to Frank Sinatra.
Marion has fun with this one, first stating the theme and then kicking it around joyously. The Gershwin-esque piano accompaniment on the verse in the middle is by Phil Ohman (of the Arden-Ohman piano duo that would record
with much success for Victor a few years later). This Brunswick side has a clean surface in the beginning and gets a little noisy toward the end (due to being enjoyed in its time), but it cleaned up easily. (A photo of
Marion, plus another audio sample and a partial bio, are at Norman Fields' web site.)
