"Hello Cutie"

by The Rounders

In the wake of "The Revellers" making hit records, and musical history, Victor also recorded this vocal quartet around the same time - all I have been able to find out about them is that they made records for Victor on the West Coast, and this one was made there on April 29 of 1927. The song had been written by Cliff Friend (co-author of many songs including "There's Yes Yes in Your Eyes") a few months before - several labels issued versions of this song, so it must have been a sizeable hit in its time. The record was in very nice condition, with minor amounts of crackle toward the end of the side, so noise reduction was only used sparingly. (the flip-side of this record, "Dixie Vagabond", can be heard on an archived radio show of the "Antique Phonograph Music Program".)
