This prolific band, according to the "Red Hot Jazz Archive," was led by the ever-present Ben Selvin. The performance, waxed on February 3 of 1926,
features a tasty trumpet solo by Red Nichols and a jovial vocal by "Bob Sylvester" - a psuedonym for Ben Selvin himself (thanks to Luis for the information). The song was written by Jules Buffano who also wrote "Learning,"
"Henpecked Blues," "Wop Blues," and appeared on the pioneering television show "Colgate Comedy Hour" in 1950. The disc from which this was sampled had a very nice surface, with just a bit of wear on the loud notes, and didn't
need much in the way of noise reduction.
