"I Wonder Who - Will It Be You?"

by Bob Haring and his Orchestra

One of the few electrically recorded Haring sides I've run across, this was issued on the Romeo label and dates from Jul 13 of 1928. The tune was written by Bob Schafer (who wrote the lyrics to Jimmy Durante's song "I've Got My Habits On"), Jack LeSoir and Ray Doll (who together also co-wrote "Make My Cot Where the Cot-Cot-Cotton Grows"). The song doesn't look like it got too much circulation except for this one recording which was issued on three labels (Romeo, Lincoln, and Cameo). The vocalist is uncredited but I'm told it's the ever-present Irving Kaufman (thanks to Michael Foltz for pointing that out). Aside from there being a fair amount of hiss in the groove, common among the depression-era records, there wasn't much noise on this side.
